Partnership for CO alarms

randomImg11

Scotland Gas Networks (SGN) has generously donated 500 CO alarms to Fife Fire and Rescue Service and Fife Cares.  These smoke alarms have been allocated to vulnerable groups and will be fitted at no cost during a free Home Fire Safety Check.

David Hadden, Commercial Manager from SGN says “We welcome this opportunity to engage with the more vulnerable members of the community who are often overlooked even though support is available. We aim to make gas as safe as possible in the community and this partnership initiative is one of several SGN is using to do this."

Brian Delorey, Community Safety FFRS says “we would urge every householder to have a smoke alarm and where appropriate, a carbon monoxide detector for their own safety and peace of mind. Anyone can contact us on free phone 0808 100 3141 for advice on safety in their homes and we will install smoke detectors and, where required, CO alarms free of charge.

Fife Fire and Rescue Service offer a Free Home Fire Safety Check to all householders in Fife who request a visit. These visits include valuable advice on the prevention of fire, the detection of fire should it occur and the formulation of an escape plan for all occupants of the household. This coupled with the free supply and fitting of smoke detectors provides reassurance to all those visited that they can dramatically improve the safety of themselves and their family.

If you would like to take up the offer of a Free Home Safety Check please call Freephone 0808 100 3141.
