Charities double delight

The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and cancer charity Maggie’s were each delighted to receive a £550 fund-raising boost from gas pipeline operator Scotland Gas Networks (SGN) as a result of it delighting its customers.
An SGN initiative to recognise top-quality service to customers resulted in its Dunfermline depot coming out on top, following surveys of their customers, and the team at Grange Road won the cash for their chosen charities.
A delighted Operations Manager Eddie McAuley said: “As a company, providing good customer service is one of our values. We aim to listen to our customers, understand their needs, deliver a quality service and keep our promises.
“We were very pleased to be recognised as number one in this area in our company and especially happy to be able to hand over the cash to two superb local charities close to the hearts of our employees.”
Roslyn Neely, Director of Fundraising and Communications at CHAS said: “A huge thank you to the staff at the SGN Dunfermline depot for their support. The money raised will help children and young people with life-limiting conditions from across Scotland, including families staying at Rachel House in Kinross, 20 minutes away from the depot.”
Mhairi MacCallum from Maggie’s said: “The support Maggie’s receives from companies like SGN is invaluable in maintaining Maggie’s free-of-charge programme of emotional and practical support to people affected by cancer across the U.K. A huge thank you to everyone at the SGN Dunfermline depot.”
