• Where we operate

We own and operate the distribution network for all of Scotland, the south of England and part of Northern Ireland. This includes more than pipes but also managing contracts for shippers who transport gas via road to remote parts of Scotland. As a customer you might not be very familiar with us, you might know more about your gas retailer. Your gas retailer uses our pipes to deliver your gas to you. If you need any pipes outside of your home up to the safety valve altered, it is our role to relocate these pipes.

We're keeping customers warm and businesses running from Devon to Milton Keynes, parts of Northern Ireland and all of Scotland.

A gas distribution map of the United Kingdom displaying where differing Gas Distribution Network Operators are based. SGN operates in all of Scotland and southern England including south London. Northern Gas Networks looks after homes in the North East of England and North Yorkshire,Wales & West Utilities cover homes in Wales and the West Country and Cadent (formally known as National Grid) covers the remaining areas including North West England, Midlands, East of England and North London

If you don't know who your gas distribution network operator is, this map gives you approximate coverage areas. If you're still not sure or live on a boundary, you can click here for a postcode lookup.

The property is outside of SGN's operating regions but energynetworks.org may help you identify the right contact.

Please note that this check only informs you if SGN covers your postcode area, it does not inform you if there are gas assets at your location, in particular if you are on or near the boundary.
