    Project update: Thursday 18 May

The third phase of our work in Holyrood Road will be completed today. We’ll then be moving onto the fourth phase of our project, working at the Pleasance junction with the Cowgate/Holyrood Road/St Mary’s Street. From 8pm tonight the following traffic management will be in place:

Holyrood Road will be reopen with access from both Holyrood Gait and the Pleasance. All westbound traffic travelling along Holyrood Road will be diverted along the Pleasance. Traffic heading north on the Pleasance (towards St Mary Street) will be diverted down Holyrood Road.

St Mary's Street will be closed to southbound traffic. Traffic will be able to access St Mary Street, northbound, from the Cowgate but not from the Pleasance or Holyrood Road.

The Cowgate will be closed to westbound traffic at the junction with the Pleasance.

Local diversion routes will be in place. Temporary traffic lights will also be in place.

We’re sorry for inconvenience caused. We understand that roadworks can be frustrating and would like to thank road users and local residents for their patience while we carry out our work. All being well, the junction will be fully reopened by 6am on Tuesday 23 May.
