    Hayton area

    Start date: 8 January 2018
    Approximate duration: 10 months

We’re investing £770,000 to upgrade our gas network in the Hayton area of Aberdeen.

This essential work involves the replacement of old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply.

In consultation with the Aberdeen City Council, we will begin our project in the Hayton area on Monday 8 January 2018. Over the coming ten months, our engineers will progress through the following roads:

    Auchinleck Road Alexander Drive
    Gort Road Montgomery Road
    Don Street Gordon's Mills Crescent
    Gordon’s Mills Road  Hayton Road
    Donbank Terrace Pennan Road
    Dill Road Coningham Terrace
    Tillydrone Road Windgate Place

We will have a number of teams working simultaneously to carry out this project as quickly and efficiently as possible.

To ensure everyone’s safety, we may need to suspend some parking bays around our work areas. At times, we’ll also need to temporarily close a road to through traffic or implement a one-way system around our site. We will agree this with the local authority in advance and install advance notice signs to keep residents informed. We will do all we can to keep disruption to a minimum during our essential project.

We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, Hayton residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
