• Glasgow (G41)
    Carberry Road area

    Start date: 8 January 2018
    Approximate duration: 16 weeks

We’re investing £90,000 to upgrade our gas network in the Carberry Road area of Pollokshields, Glasgow.

This essential work involves the replacement of old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply.

Following discussions with Glasgow Council, the work will start on Monday 8 January 2018 and will last for approximately 16 weeks.

Our work will begin in Dolphin Road on Monday 8 January. During our 16-week project, we’ll also be working in the following streets:

    • Carberry Road
    • Kirkcaldy Road
    • Killiegrew Road
    • Springkell Avenue

From Monday 5 February, temporary four-way traffic lights will be in place at Dolphin Road’s junction with Kirkcaldy Road for approximately three weeks. This is due to the location of our gas main and to ensure the safety of road users and our engineers.

You’ll find further details in our project leaflet.

We’re committed to upgrading our network to ensure we continue to keep homes and businesses safe and warm long into the future.

We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, residents in Shawlands will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come. We always aim to minimise disruption and we will make every effort to ensure our works are completed as soon as possible.
