Following discussions with the City of Edinburgh Council, we’ll begin the second stage of our work in the Pennywell Road area on Monday 8 January 2018. This is part of a wider £880,000 project which we started in November 2017.
We’ve split this final section of our project into three phases to help minimise disruption.
Phase one: approximately four weeks
We’ll start work in Pennywell Road on Monday 8 January. To allow our engineers to work safely, the road will be closed to northbound traffic for the duration of this phase. A signed diversion route will be in place for motorists via Ferry Road, West Granton Access and West Granton Road. Access to the medical centre will be maintained at all time via a temporary road.
Phase two: approximately four weeks
After we’ve completed phase one, or work will move into Groathill Road North. We’ll be working at its junction with Ferry Road, which will be closed for approximately four weeks. A signed diversion for motorists will be in place via Ferry Road and Telford Road.
Phase three: approximately seven weeks
The third and final phase of our project will also take place in Groathill Road North. The road will be reopened to northbound traffic for the duration of this phase, but will remain closed to southbound traffic. Ferry Road and Telford Road will continue to be the diversion route for this phase.
