    Mansfield Road

    Start date: Monday 30 October
    Approximate duration: 14 weeks

We're investing £146,000 to upgrade our gas network in Mansfield Road, Hawick.

This essential work involves replacing old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe, which has a minimum lifespan of 80 years, to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply for the local area.

Following discussions with Scottish Borders Council, our project will start on Monday 30 October and last for approximately 14 weeks. We’re carrying out this work over six phases to minimise disruption.

    Phase 1: Approximately four weeks

We’ll be working in Mansfield Road between its junction with Rosevale Street and number 21. For the duration of this phase, the road will be closed around our work area to ensure everyone’s safety.

    Phase 2: Approximately two weeks

During phase two we’ll be working in Mansfield Road between its junctions with Rosevale Street and Mansfield Crescent. The road will be closed in both directions.

    Phase 3: Approximately two weeks

Our third phase will be carried out between the Mansfield Road footbridge and 21 Mansfield Road. Once again, the road will be closed around our work area.

    Phase 4: Approximately two weeks

We’ll be working in Mansfield Gardens during phase four, near its junction with Mansfield Road. To ensure the safety of our engineers and the public, the road will be closed and there will be no access to Mansfield Road from Mansfield Gardens.

    Phase 5: Approximately one week

We'll return to Mansfield Road in phase five, where we'll be working between the footbridge and the junction with Eastfield Road. This phase will start on Monday 8 January and the road will be closed around our work area.

    Phase 6: Approximately three weeks

Our final phase of work will be carried out in Mansfield Road between its junctions with Eastfield Road and Mansfield Gardens. The road will be closed around our work area for the duration.

At each point where the road is closed, a signed diversion route will be in place for motorists. Access for residents will be maintained at all times during each phase.
