We’re working to upgrade our gas network in the Kirkliston Road area of South Queensferry.
We are investing £250,000 to replace our old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
Following discussions with The City of Edinburgh Council, our work will start in March 2018 and will last for approximately 5 weeks.
We’ll begin our work in Burgess Road for one week to coincide with the school holidays, Burgess Road will be closed to through traffic during this time.
Our work will then progress into Kirkliston Road at its junction with Burgess Road. Three-way temporary traffic lights will be in place.
We’ll then move towards its junction with Kirkliston Road, Viewforth Place and Rosebury Avenue, where we’ll have four-way traffic lights in place to ensure everyone’s safety and continued traffic flow.
There will also be some parking suspensions in Kirkliston Road, Burgess Road, Station Road, Viewforth Place, Roseburry Avenue.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, South Queensferry residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
