• Stirling
    Menstrie area

    Start date: 8 January 2018
    Approximate duration: 12 weeks

We’re investing £230,000 to upgrade our gas network in the Menstrie area of Stirling

This essential work involves the replacement of old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply.

Following discussions with Clackmannanshire Council, our project will begin on Monday 8 January and will last for approximately 12 weeks.

To minimise disruption for residents and motorists, we’ve split this project into phases and will be working in more than one area at a time to complete our work as soon as possible.

Phase one – approximately eight weeks

Our work will begin in Forthvale on Monday 8 January, at its junction with Elmbank. Three-way temporary traffic lights will be in place for roughly three weeks to ensure everyone’s safety. Our work will then progress northbound up the street and we’ll have temporary traffic lights in place round our work area. When we reach the junction with the A91 Main Street, three-way temporary lights will be in place.

Phase two – approximately three weeks

The second phase of our work will be carried out in Middleton near its junction with Lipney. Temporary traffic lights will be in place around our work area to ensure everyone’s safety and continued traffic flow. This phase will be carried out at the same time as phase one.

Phase three – approximately four weeks

Once phase one of our project is complete, our engineers will then work to upgrade the gas service pipes in Forthvale. It’s possible we’ll need to implement three-way temporary traffic lights at its junction with the A91 Main Street as we carry out this section of our work.

We’ll have a welfare unit for our engineers, and an area to store our materials, in a section of Myreton. To ensure everyone’s safety we may have to close a section of the road but a signed diversion route will be in place for motorists and local access will be maintained.

We also need to carry out work in the following streets:

    The Cloves

This section of our project is still in the planning stages, but as soon as more information becomes available it will be posted here.
