    Marcham Road (A415)

    Start date: 7 January 2019
    Approximate duration: 20 weeks

We are working to upgrade the gas network in the A415 Marcham Road, Abingdon.

We are investing to replace our old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.

In consultation with Oxfordshire County Council, we will start work on Monday 7 January.

We’ll be working in the A415 Marcham Road between its junctions with Howard Cornish Road and the A34. To ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll need to install temporary traffic lights that will move with our work area as we progress eastwards along the A415 Marcham Road. The road can be busy at peak times and we would recommend road users allow extra time for their journey.

We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, people will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
