We are working to upgrade the gas network in the Glenlea Road area of Eltham.
We are replacing our old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
In consultation with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, we will begin our project in Glenlea Road and Beechhill Road on Monday 16 October 2017. Over the coming 12 months, our engineers will progress through the following roads:
We will have two teams working simultaneously to carry out this project as quickly and efficiently as possible.
To ensure everyone’s safety, we may need to suspend some parking bays around our work areas. At times, we may need to temporarily close a road to through traffic or implement a one-way system around our site. We will agree this with the Royal Borough of Greenwich in advance and install advance notice signs to keep residents informed. We will do all we can to keep disruption to a minimum during our essential project.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, Eltham residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
