We are working to upgrade the gas network in The Drive area of Esher.
We are investing to replace our old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
In consultation with Surrey County Council, we will start work on Monday 22 January and our work will last approximately eight months.
Phase one – approximately 12 weeks: We’ll be working in the footway in Grove Way progressing from Ember Lane towards The Drive. To ensure everyone’s safety, we will need to install temporary multi-way traffic lights around our work area near the junction with The Drive.
Phase two – approximately 12 weeks: Our work will then progress to the footway in The Drive between Grove Way and Ember Lane. When we’re working near the junction with Grove Way, we will need to install temporary multi-way traffic lights around our work area to ensure everyone’s safety.
Phase three – approximately ten weeks: For the final phase of our project, we will be working in the footways in The Woodlands and in Carleton Close.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, people will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
