    Main Road

    Start date: 17 September 2018
    Approximate duration: Eight weeks

We are working to upgrade the gas network in Main Road, Hextable.

We are investing to replace our old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.

In consultation with Kent County Council, we will start work on Monday 17 September.

Phase one – approximately four weeks
We’ll start our work in Main Road just north of its junction with Highlands Hill, progressing towards the junction with College Road. To ensure everyone’s safety and to keep the traffic flowing, we’ll need to install temporary traffic lights around our work area which will move with us as we progress along Main Road.

Phase two – approximately two weeks
From Monday 15 October we’ll be working in College Road at its junction with Malyons Road and Rollo Road. We’ll need to temporarily close both Malyons Road and Rollo Road at their junction with College Road for everyone’s safety. A signed diversion will be in place for motorists.

Phase three – approximately two weeks

For our final phase, we’ll be working in St David’s Road at its junction with Top Dartford Road from Monday 29 October. To keep everyone safe we’ll need to install temporary traffic lights at the junction during our work.

We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, people will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
