We are working to upgrade the gas network in Plumstead.
We’ll be applying an innovative new protective coating to the inner walls of our gas governor site in Brookdene Road, which will help ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
Following discussions with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, we will be working to upgrade our gas governor site in Brookdene Road in three stages. The first stage was successfully completed in May this year and we will shortly be starting the second stage of this project.
We’ll restart work on Monday 27 November. To ensure the safety of motorists and our engineers, we need to temporarily close a section of Brookdene Road between Bannockburn Road and Barth Road for approximately four weeks.
A signed diversion will be in place for through traffic and we’ll maintain pedestrian access to this section of the road at all times.
We will be carrying out the third phase of this project between Monday 22 January and Thursday 22 February. As part of this phase, we need to temporarily close Brookdene Road for one day between between Bannockburn Road and Barth Road with a signed diversion in place for motorists. Weather permitting, we hope to carry out this one-day closure during the week commencing 22 January 2018. We will install advance notice signs nearer the time to keep you informed of when this closure will be in place.
