We are working to upgrade the gas network in Benbow Crescent, Poole.
We are replacing our old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
In consultation with Borough of Poole, we will start work on Monday 20 November.
To ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll be closing Benbow Crescent at the western junction with Wallisdown Road. We’ll maintain access to residents at all times from the eastern end of Benbow Crescent. We will also need to install temporary two-way traffic lights in Wallisdown Road (A3049). We’ll be doing all we can to minimise disruption, including manually controlling the temporary traffic lights at peak times to keep the traffic moving. We hope to complete this work and remove our traffic lights by Friday 1 December.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, Benbow Crescent residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
