We will shortly start the final phase of our upgrade programme to replace gas mains in the Parkstone Road area of Poole.
This essential work involves the replacement of old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipe to ensure we continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
In co-ordination with Poole Borough Council, this work has been brought forward to support urgent third party work programmed in the area.
Work will start on Wednesday, 25 October for approximately three weeks.
To ensure everyone’s safety, we will need to temporarily close the outside lane of Parkstone Road, southbound, near the approach to the George roundabout for the duration of the project. This will be in place between numbers 2 and 8 Parkstone Road approximately. Dependent on the location of gas connections, we may also need to close one lane of the northbound carriageway of High Street North, approximately between the George Hotel and Keel House.
We would like to reassure you that we will maintain single lane traffic flow around our work on both sides of Parkstone Road and High Street North.
Our engineers who will be carrying out these works have advised there will be no interruption to gas supplies at any point.
