Project update: 2 February

Our project to upgrade our gas network in the Great Junction Street area will begin on Tuesday 6 February.

Due to other road closures in the area and to reduce disruption as much as possible, our temporary traffic lights and won't be in place until mid-February. We'll post an update about the traffic lights and road closures here as soon as we have it.

From Tuesday 6 February, our engineers will be on site setting up equipment and carrying out some required work in the footpaths on Great Junction Street. Footpath closures will be in place with a diversion route for pedestrians.

We’re investing £94,000 to upgrade our gas network in the A901 Great Junction Street area, to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply for businesses and residents for many years to come.

In agreement with the City of Edinburgh Council, our project will start at the beginning of February and will and last approximately 10 weeks.

Our work in A901 Great Junction Street will begin at its junction with Cables Wynd and progress towards Coburg Street in stages.

Local parking restrictions will be in force to allow our teams safe access to our work area and ensure the safety of pedestrians and road users.

Cables Wynd and Mill Lane will be closed at the junctions with Great Junction Street for a duration of our project, with local diversion routes in place for motorists.

At times, we may need to use temporary traffic lights, but we’ll give as much notice of this as possible.

If you have any concerns regarding deliveries or bin collections, please get in touch with our Customer Service Team on 0800 912 1700 who can arrange for the Project Manager to discuss this with you.
