Project update: 25 April
Phase 1 - Birnam, Little Dunkeld and Inver
All work to lay the gas pipeline through Birnam, Little Dunkeld, under the River Braan and through Inver are now complete. We'd like to thank all local residents and businesses for their patience and understanding as we completed the first phase of this gas infrastructure project.
Phase 2 - A9
The majority of phase two of our critical work in the A9 is now complete. We still have some work to complete at the railway bridge, but this is being carried out under monitored traffic management on weekdays between the hours of 9pm and 6am.
Phase 3 - B898
We continue to make good progress along the B898 and we have now reached the southern entrance to PGL with our rolling road closure having passed the majority of properties in Dalguise, shown on the map below. This means most Dalguise villagers can now access the A9 by travelling south along the B898 and no longer have to use of the signposted diversion route.
In addition, from Monday 29 April, PGL will be able to start using its southern entrance and its coaches will be able to use the main PGL entrance once again.
We will continue to keep you informed with the progress we are making on the project with regular updates and an accompanying map.
There's more information, including exactly where we'll be working, in our project leaflet.
Project background
One of our gas pipes runs close to the River Tay, and due to some erosion on the river bank we need to move and upgrade this section of our network.
Our gas network in the area remains safe and there's no immediate risk, but we want to carry out our construction work now to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply.
Our new pipeline will run between Birnam and Logierait and the project is being carried out by our contractors Advance Group Limited and Morrison Energy Services.
Here's our CEO Mark Wild with more information on our critical project.

You can also keep updated with our plans, or advise us on any special events we should be aware of, by signing up to our project email distribution list.
We're updating this dedicated web page as our project progresses, writing to affected residents to keep them informed, and publishing project milestones in The Bridge community newsletter.
