Bishopbriggs, Crosshill Road area

We'll shortly begin essential network upgrades in the Crosshill Road area of Bishopbriggs. Strathkelvin Retail Park and the A803 Kirkintilloch will be impacted by our work however, all businesses in the area will be open as normal.

In agreement with East Dunbartonshire Council, our project will start on Monday 11 September and last approximately five weeks.

By upgrading our gas network in the area, we’ll continue to keep Bishopbriggs homes and businesses safe and warm long into the future.

We're carrying out our work in four phases to minimise disruption to the local community as much as possible.

Phase one – approximately one week

From Monday 11 September, three-way temporary traffic lights will be in place in the roundabout where the A803 Kirkintilloch Road and Crosshill Road meet. These lights will be manually controlled from 7am to 7pm to minimise inconvenience as much as possible.

Phase two – approximately two weeks

From Monday 18 September, four-way temporary lights will be in place at the smaller roundabout in Crosshill Road where vehicles enter Strathkelvin Retail Park. Again, the lights will be manually controlled from 7am to 7pm. All of the businesses in the retail park and Burger King, will be open as normal throughout our project.

Phase three – approximately one week

From Monday 2 October, two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place in Crosshill Road, between the Strathkelvin Retail Park roundabout and the other entrance to the retail park’s car park.

Phase four – approximately one week

From Monday 9 October, three-way temporary traffic lights will be in place in Crosshill Road at the entrance to Strathkelvin Retail Park car park (not the roundabout entrance).

We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, once the work is complete, Bishopbriggs residents and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
