From Monday 23 March, we'll be working in College Road for approximately four weeks to replace our old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe. Our work is taking place during the Easter school holidays to try to reduce some of the impact caused by additional traffic.
To safely complete our work, we'll need to temporarily close College Road at its junctions with Longdown Lane North and South. This means traffic will not be able to access Longdown Road North and South from College Road for the duration of our work.
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses and a signed diversion will be in place via two diversion routes listed below.

Longdown Lane > Burgh Heath Road > Fir Tree Road > Reigate Road
Diversion route Two
Alexandra Road > Upper High Street > High Street > Ashley Avenue > South Street > Dorking Road > Epsom Road > The Street > Leatherhead Road > Leatherhead bypass > A243 > Kingston Road > Heatherhead Road > Hook Road > Hook Rise North/South > Kingston Road > Ewell bypass > Reigate Road
How will our work affect you?
- Longdown Lane North and South will not be accessible from College Road
- Please notify visitors and delivery companies about the closure.
- Access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
- If you travel by bus, please check your journey times with your bus provider.
