South Ayrshire, Doonfoot and Alloway

We're investing £1 million to upgrade our gas network in the Doonfoot and Alloway areas of South Ayrshire.

This essential work involves the replacement of old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply.

In agreement with Ayrshire Roads Alliance, our project started on Tuesday 9 May 2023.


Update: 12 October 2023

We’ve made steady progress however, due to engineering difficulties, there have been some changes to our timelines and the phases of our work. Here is an updated map which shows in green work that is complete. A breakdown for the remaining phases can be found below the map.

Phase one: Complete
 

Phase two: From October 2023 until December 2023

We’ll be working in the following streets:

  • Lochpark, Earls Way, Knowholm, Abbots Way
  • Longhill Avenue, between its junctions with High Maybole Road and Doonbank Park

During this phase, Longhill Avenue between will be closed both ways, between High Maybole Road and Doonbank Park, on Monday 30 October for approximately three weeks.
 

Phase three: From January 2024 until March 2024

We’ll be working in the following streets:

  • B7024 Alloway, Greenfield Avenue, Murdoch’s Lone and Shanter Way
     

Phase four: From March 2024 until May 2024

We’ll be working in the following streets:

  • Lamford Drive, Portmark Avenue, Craigstewart Crescent. 
  • Longhill Avenue, between its junctions with Dunure Road and Lamford Drive, Cairnsmore Drive. Dunure Road, Stonefield Park.

This phase will involve a road closure at the junction of Dunure Road and Scaur O' Doon. 

 

Phase five: October 2024

We’ll be working in:

  • Doonfoot Road, between its junctions with Cunning Park Drive and Gearholm Road.
