We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the A25 Main Road area from January 2024. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to nearby homes and businesses.

What we're doing
We're replacing our old metal pipes in phases along A25 Main Road. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.
When we're working
Our work started in January and is expected to last approximately 12 weeks. To help minimise disruption, we'll be working extended hours and our project will be carried out in separate phases.
We began our gas network upgrades in A25 Main Road on Monday 8 January.
Our engineers will be replacing our old pipes between New Road to outside the White Hart Pub. This phase is expected to last approximately two to four weeks.
To ensure everyone's safety, we need to install temporary traffic lights around our site. These lights will move along the road as our work area progresses westwards.
We recognise this is a sensitive traffic location, and to help manage traffic flow, we'll be manually operating these lights during peak times on weekdays.
Work on this phase has been completed from the junction of New Road to approximately 80m short of Church Road and B2211 Chevening Road.
We're working to restore the road surface to its original condition and the traffic lights will be moved to start phase three on Monday 26 February.
The remaining 80m of work needs to be replanned and carried out at a later date, after finding the old metal pipes are located in the middle of the carriageway.
Our third phase of work will take place between Weald House and Sevenoaks Garden Centre from Monday 26 February.
This section of work is expected to last between five and seven weeks.
Our temporary traffic lights will once again be in place around our work area for everyone's safety.
An additional team of engineers will also be carrying out network upgrades in several side roads.
We'll be working in the following roads and may need to close roads, install temporary lights or implement give and take traffic management so motorists can safely pass our sites.
Where roads are closed, signed diversions will be in place and access will be maintained for affected residents.
Greystone Park
This road will be closed from Tuesday 2 January.
Chapmans Close
Give and take will be in place from Tuesday 2 January.
New Road
This road will be closed from Monday 8 January.
Woodside Road
Temporary traffic lights will be in place from Monday 15 January.
Manor Road
Temporary traffic lights will be in place from Monday 29 January.
Church Road
This road will be closed from Friday 29 March.
All our work is agreed in close consultation with Kent County Council and key stakeholders.
We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years. This means that once our work is done, Sundridge and Brasted residents and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable supply of gas for many years to come.

Our contractors are continuing to make good progress in our project to upgrade the gas network in the A25 Main Road area of Sundridge. We've been helped by an additional engineering team becoming available on site over the last two weeks, and will benefit from this additional resource until Friday 9 February.
We're very pleased to say that we have now laid approximately 700 metres of new plastic pipe from outside Combe Lodge to the Sundridge Premier Shop/Post Office. To keep everyone safe around our work we will continue to use two way traffic lights, which will move along the road with us. We will also continue to manually control the traffic lights between 7am and 7pm to help minimise disruption as much as possible.
