Hook, A30 London Road

We're upgrading our gas network in the A30 London Road, Hook.

We are replacing our old metal gas mains and services with new plastic pipe. This essential work will ensure your community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.

Engineers will be working between 7.30am to 6.30pm from Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm on Saturday as required to reduce the duration and minimise the impact of our work.

The work will be completed in four phases.

Phase one – from outside Winkworth Business Park to Totters Lane

From Monday 30 October, our engineers will be working from outside Winkworth Business Park to Trotters Lane for approximately seven weeks. For the safety of everyone around our worksite, the speed limit will be reduced from 60mph to 30 mph.

While we are working in this location, Thames Water will be working overnight from Monday 30 October until Friday 3 November.

Phase two – from Totters Lane to Holt Lane

Phase two will run from Monday 11 December until Friday 15 December and will restart on Monday 8 January 2024 for approximately four weeks. For everyone's safety, we'll need to install temporary three-way traffic lights at Totters Lane and Murrell Green Business Park.

The speed reduction will also remain in place during this phase.

Phase three – Holt Lane

Once phase two has been completed, we will move our work into Holt Road. We expect to be working in Holt Lane for approximately four weeks. For everyone's safety around our worksite, we'll need to temporarily close the road while we're working there.

A signed diversion will be in place for road users and access will be maintained for residents and businesses.

Phase four – Holt Way and Whitewater Rise

We're planning to start work in Holt Way and Whitewater Rise on Monday 1 April for approximately four weeks. We'll be asking road users to ‘give and take’ past our worksite. We will need to place parking cones on the roads to allow traffic to pass safely.
