We began essential gas network upgrades in Main Road, Cardross on Monday 22 June. Our project involves replacing old metallic gas pipes with new modern plastic pipes and is part of the mains replacement programme introduced by the Health and Safety Executive. All going well our work will be complete in October 2026.
Our teams are working under temporary two-way traffic lights for everyone’s safety. The lights will be operating in the A814 Main Road between the Craigend Road junction and the entrance to Cardross Golf Club. We will need to move the traffic lights between these locations as our work progresses.
We apologise for any disruption this work may cause. Once installed, the new pipe has a lifespan of approximately 80 years ensuring a continued safe and reliable gas supply for Cardross residents and businesses for decades to come.
