We're preparing to carry out essential network upgrades in the Watts Lane area to ensure nearby homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
Our engineers will be replacing our old metal mains with new plastic pipe from Monday 1 December. This work is expected to last approximately three weeks.
To ensure everyone's safety around our site, we will need to implement some temporary traffic measures as indicated below.
- Temporary traffic lights will be installed in Watts Lane between its junctions with Cricket Ground Road and Church Row, for two weeks from Monday 1 December.
- A road closure will be in place along Cricket Ground Road too.
- From Monday 8 December, Morley Road and Crown Lane will be closed to motorists near their junctions with Watts Lane.
Access will be maintained to properties located within the closure area. All other motorists should follow the signed diversion route.
We appreciate roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of approximately 80 years. This means once our work is done, Chislehurst residents and businesses will be able to enjoy a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
