Dartford, Pilgrims Way

We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the Pilgrims Way area of Dartford. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to nearby homes and businesses.

Working to keep you safe and warm

What we're doing

We're replacing our old metal pipes as part of our 30-year programme of work to upgrade our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives.

When we're working

Our work started in May and we're carrying this project in phases to help minimise disruption. This project is expected to last approximately six months in total.

Where we'll be working

Phase one

  • We started work along Wayville Way and Canterbury Close last month.
  • This phase of work is being carried out with minimal impact to road users.

Phase two

  • Our engineers will then start work in Pilgrims Way from Mon 29 Jun.
  • This is expected to last approximately five weeks.
  • We'll be upgrading our network between its junctions with Park Road and Watling Street.
  • During this time, Pilgrims Way will be closed to motorists around our site. A signed diversion route will be in place.

Phase three

  • We'll then move into Watling Street from Mon 20 Jul.
  • Our engineers will be working between its junctions with Pilgrims Way and The Brent, before progressing to between property number 74 and Meadow Way.
  • Temporary traffic lights will also be in operation around our work area for everyone's safety.
  • All being well, our work in Watling Street will finish within seven weeks.

Phase four

  • Our engineers will then be replacing our old pipes in Green Street from Mon 24 Aug for around three weeks.
  • Temporary traffic lights will be installed around our site near Churchill Close.

Phase five

  • Our engineers will finish our project in Brentlands Drive and Princes View.
  • Brentlands Drive will be closed between Pilgrims Way and Brent Lane for four weeks from Mon 7 Sep.

We understand roadworks can be frustrating. We'll be doing everything we can to minimise disruption while we complete this essential work.
