We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the B2093 area of Hastings. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to nearby homes and businesses.

What we're doing
We'll be replacing our old metal pipes - laid around a century ago - in the B2093 area. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.
When we're working
Our work will start on Tuesday 22 September and be carried out in six phases to help minimise disruption. This project is expected to finish in mid-August 2028.
Temporary traffic lights on the B2093
To ensure everyone's safety while this work is carried out, temporary traffic lights will be installed around our work area as we progress.
These lights will be manually operated to ensure traffic continues to flow on this sensitive route. However, we'd recommend motorists allow extra time for journeys while the lights are in operation.

- We'll be working between its junctions with Grange Road and Stonestile Lane
- Our engineers will be replacing 1500m and upgrading 30 services to adjoining properties
- We're hopeful of finishing this phase by Fri 11 Dec 2026
Starting on Mon 4 Jan 2027
- We'll be working between its junctions with Stonestile Lane and Elphinstone Road
- Our engineers will be replacing 650m and upgrading seven services to adjoining properties
- We're hopeful of finishing this phase by Mon 5 Apr 2027
Starting on Mon 28 Jun 2027
- We'll be working between its junctions with Elphinstone Road and Norcross Close
- Our engineers will be replacing 700m and upgrading 11 services to adjoining properties
- We're hopeful of finishing this phase by Mon 13 Sep 2027
Starting on Sat 16 Oct 2027
- We'll be working between its junctions with Grange Road and Stonestile Lane
- Our engineers will be replacing 28m of our old metal main
- We're hopeful of finishing this phase by Sun 31 Oct 2027
Starting on Mon 3 Jan 2028
- We'll be working from opposite Maitland Close, past Hillside Road and Beany's Lane, to just short of the Conquest Hospital roundabout
- Our engineers will be replacing 425m and upgrading 38 services to adjoining properties
- We're hopeful of finishing this phase by Mon 28 Feb 2028
Starting on Mon 26 Jun 2028
- We'll be working between Norcross Close just past the junction with Pine Avenue
- Our engineers will be replacing 450m of our old metal gas main
- We're hopeful of finishing this phase by Mon 21 Aug 2028

We recognise roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years. This means that once our essential upgrade project is complete, Hastings residents and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
