Sevenoaks, Borough Green Road

We'll shortly start essential work to upgrade our network in the Borough Green Road area of Sevenoaks to ensure local properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.

From Monday 4 July, and for approximately seven weeks, our engineers will be upgrading our pipes in Borough Green Road between its junctions with Fen Pond Road and the A25 roundabout.

To ensure everyone's safety, Borough Green Road will need to be closed to motorists between these junctions. We'll then need to close its junctions with Fen Pond Road and The Close when we're working here.

Signed diversions will be in place for affected motorists. Road users should follow our signed diversion route via Ightham Road, Stumble Hill, Tonbridge Road, Shipborne Road, Bordyke, Hadlow Road, Tonbridge Road, Malling Road, Ashton Way, London Road, A227, Western Road and A25.

However, access will be maintained for residents and businesses around our closure.

Temporary traffic lights will be installed for additional safety for a fortnight from Monday 25 July. These lights will be positioned at Borough Green Road's roundabout junction with Dark Hill Road and Ightham Bypass.

We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that Sevenoaks homes and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
