We're preparing to carry out essential network upgrades in the Melfort Avenue area to ensure nearby homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
Our engineers will be replacing old metal mains with new plastic pipe from Monday 30 March. This work is being carried out in phases and we're expecting to complete it by the end of June.
To ensure everyone's safety, we will need to close the following roads around our work area:
- Melfort Avenue and Carew Road
from Monday 30 March for approximately four weeks - Brigstock Road, between Brook Road and Boswell Road
from Monday 6 April for approximately two weeks - Brook Road, between Brigstock Road and Quadrant Road
from Monday 6 April for approximately five weeks - Boswell Road
from Monday 13 April for approximately ten weeks - Haslemere Road and Penthurst Road
from Monday 13 April for approximately five weeks - Ecclesbourne Road, between Boswell Road and Kynaston Road
from Monday 27 April for approximately four weeks - Kenley Gardens and Woodcote Avenue
from Monday 27 April for approximately four weeks
Access will be maintained to properties located within closure areas. All other motorists should follow the signed diversion routes.
We appreciate roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of approximately 80 years. This means once our work is done, residents and businesses will be able to enjoy a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
