We’ll be starting a project to upgrade the gas network in Bankhead, Wick, from Monday 5 October for approximately 11 weeks.
We’re investing £150,000 to replace the gas governor in Bankhead Road which has come to the end of its useful life. Gas governors are important because they reduce and control the pressure of gas as it moves through our network, ensuring homes and businesses receive gas at the safe, consistent pressure needed for appliances to work properly.
To carry out this work safely, we will need to temporarily close Bankhead at its junction with Thurso Road. We apologise for any disruption this causes. A signed diversion will be in place for motorists via Bankhead Road, Station Road, Cliff Road and Thurso Street.
Access to Wick train station, the police station, and Caithness General Hospital will be maintained throughout the works via the diversion routes.
