Portsmouth, Queen Street

We're preparing to upgrade our gas network in the Queen Street area from Monday 20 October.

These essential works will involve replacing an old, metal pipe with new longer longer-lasting plastic one so that we can continue to provide businesses, and wider community, with a safe and efficient gas supply. It will also minimise the risk of further gas escapes in the future.

For everyone's safety, temporary traffic lights will be installed around our work area. A map outlining the location of the site and where the lights will be in operation can be found below.

We appreciate our work, and necessary traffic management can be disruptive for local road users, and we’d like to reassure the local community that our team will be doing all they can to complete these works as safely and as quickly as possible. We'd advise people allow extra time for your journeys while the lights are in place.

This work is expected to be complete by Friday 14 November.

If you have any specific questions regarding these works, please contact our customer service team at customer@sgn.co.uk.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience this work will cause, and thank local people for their patience and understanding.
