We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the Forest Road area. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to Tunbridge Wells homes and businesses.
Working to keep you safe and warm
What we're doing
We'll be replacing our old metal pipes in phases along Forest Road and Bayham Road. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.
When we're working
Our work will start at the end of August and this project is expected to last approximately seven weeks.
Where we'll be working
Forest Road
- We'll be working in Forest Road from Tuesday 26 August for approximately seven weeks.
- Our engineers will be replacing our old pipes at its junction with Bayham Road.
- For everyone's safety, temporary traffic lights will be installed around our work area. These lights will be manned at peak times to help minimise disruption.
Bayham Road
- We'll be working in Bayham Road from Tuesday 26 August for approximately four weeks.
- Our engineers will be upgrading our network between Birling Road and Dukes Drive.
- For safety, we need to close Bayham Road to motorists, between Forest Road and Wallace Close.
- A signed diversion route for affected motorists will be in place via Forest Road and A267 Frant Road.
- Access for residents and businesses will be maintained. Pedestrians and cyclist access will also be maintained around our closure area, although cyclists are requested to please dismount.
We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, this work is essential to ensuring Tunbridge Wells properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.
