Tunbridge Wells, Lower Green Road and Broomhill Road

We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the Lower Green Road area. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to Tunbridge Wells homes and businesses.

Working to keep you safe and warm

What we're doing

We'll be replacing our old metal pipes in phases along Lower Green Road and Broomhill Road. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.

When we're working

Our work will start in mid-August and this project is expected to last approximately three to four weeks.

Where we'll be working

Phase one - Broomhill Road

  • Our work will start in Broomhill Road on Thursday 14 August.
  • We'll be working between the Lower Green Road junction and Broomhill Bank School.
  • For everyone's safety, Broomhill Road will be closed between these two locations.

Phase two - Lower Green Road

  • Once we've completed our first phase, our engineers will move to Lower Green Road.
  • We'll be working between Broomhill Bank Cottages and 123 Lower Green Road.
  • This section of Lower Green Road will be closed to motorists during this time.
  • Broomhill Road will also remain shut at its junction with Lower Green Road.

Signed diversions will be in place for affected motorists.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses around our closure area. Cyclist access will also be maintained, but cyclists must dismount and walk here.
