We've started essential gas network upgrades in the Priory Road area of Lesmahagow. This work has been planned in close consultation with South Lanarkshire Council and will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to nearby homes and businesses.
Working to keep you safe and warm
What we're doing
We'll be replacing our old metal pipes with new, reliable plastic pipe.
When we're working
Our work started on Monday 8 January and is expected to last approximately 10 weeks. To help minimise disruption, we'll be working extended hours where possible.
Road closure in Priory Road and Priory Avenue
A rolling road closure is required throughout the full duration of this project.
Signed local diversions will be in place for road users. Parking at Woodpark Primary School will be affected by this closure.
The road closure will move in sections from Priory Avenue into Priory Road as follows:
Other streets we'll be working in
Throughout this project we’ll also be working in the following streets without the need for temporary traffic lights or road closures:
Kelso Avenue
From Monday 8 January to Sunday 18 February.
Auldton Drive
From Monday 8 January to Sunday 25 February.
Abbeyhill Road
From Monday 15 January until Sunday 3 March.
Abbeyhill Crescent
From Monday 15 January until Sunday 10 March.
Balgray Road
From Monday 22 January until Sunday 17 March.
We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years. This means that once our work is done, Lesmahagow residents and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable supply of gas for many years to come.
