Levenmouth Foodbank has received a donation of £6,200 and 168kg of food from workers at our H100 Fife project including our partners Cadent Foundation and Altrad Babcock.
H100 Fife is delivering the UK’s first end‑to‑end hydrogen system — from green hydrogen production and secure storage at Fife Energy Park, through to safe use in homes in Buckhaven and Denbeath.
Located in Methil, just a mile from H100 Fife, Levenmouth Foodbank supports around 2,500 people every year. Alongside distributing emergency food parcels to people experiencing a short-term food crisis, it runs Café Connect twice a week, providing meals and a safe space for social engagement.
The charity also delivers a Schools Project for pupils in P5 to P7 and, just last month, opened a hope garden with support from Scottish Action for Mental Health. The garden was created after the food bank lost 14 regular visitors to drug‑related deaths last year, offering a place to remember loved ones and reflect on the future.
Levenmouth Foodbank Manager Ruth Livingstone said:
“Every week we meet people who simply need a helping hand to get through a difficult time. The food bank is here to provide that support, but it’s only possible thanks to the kindness of others. This donation from H100 Fife means we can keep offering food and a welcoming space to those who need it most. We’re truly thankful for their generosity and for standing alongside our community.”
Levenmouth is one of Scotland’s most deprived areas, facing fuel poverty levels even higher than the Fife average of one in three households. That’s why the H100 Fife team organised the appeal reaching out for support from their partners and workers.
SGN Stakeholder and Community Manager Sarah Ballantyne said:
“Hearing about the work Levenmouth Foodbank does and the difference it makes to local people was really moving. It’s clear how much care and effort goes into supporting the community, and that touched all of us working on H100 Fife. We’re grateful for the chance to support the food bank and the generosity of our workers, contractors and partners.”
