Loss of supply - Coatbridge area

Overview

We are aware that a number of gas supplies have been lost to properties in the Coatbridge area of North Lanarkshire. Our engineers are on site to establish the cause and the extent of the issue.

It’s currently too difficult to estimate how long it will take to restore gas supplies to affected homes and businesses, but we will update our website throughout the day as soon as new information becomes available.

Latest updates

Our engineers arrived back on site early this morning and have been working to restore gas supplies to all affected homes.

If we haven't reached you yet, please bear with us and wait for an engineer to visit. It's important that you don't try to turn on your own gas supply for safety reasons.

If you’re not in when our engineer calls, we’ll leave a card with instructions to rearrange a visit.

Our Customer Service Team are at Riverbank Community Hub in Paddock Street, Coatbridge. Please head along to speak with us if you need assistance or have any questions.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We'll post an update on our progress later today.

We have visited all affected properties and our engineers are completing repair work to the local gas network.

We will soon begin restoring gas supplies, starting tonight with visits to priority customers who need extra support.

For safety reasons, please do not attempt to turn your gas supply back on yourself.

We'll be back in the area tomorrow from 7am to re-visit all remaining properties. It's important that we're able to access as many homes as possible in the morning, but if you’re not in when our engineer calls, we’ll leave a card with instructions to rearrange a visit.

Our customer service centre at Riverbank Community Hub in Paddock Street, Coatbridge, will reopen tomorrow at 9.30am.

We’d like to thank the Carnbroe community for your patience and support today.

We’re aware of an issue with gas supplies to homes in the Carnbroe area. Our engineers are on site and working as quickly and safely as possible to assess the extent of the issue.

We understand how worrying and frustrating it is to be without your gas supply, particularly during the very cold weather we’re experiencing, and we’re really sorry for the disruption this is causing.

For everyone’s safety, our teams are visiting affected properties to temporarily turn off gas supplies at the meter. We appreciate this is inconvenient, but it’s an essential step to allow us to carry out the necessary work and restore supplies safely.

We’re providing additional support for customers who need it most. Electric hot plates and heaters are available for vulnerable customers, including elderly people and households with young children. Our team is also available in person at Riverbank Community Hub in Paddock Street, Coatbridge (ML5 4PG), to offer advice, answer questions and provide practical assistance. The centre will remain open until approximately 8pm today.

At this stage, it’s too early to give a confirmed timescale for restoring gas supplies. Please be assured that resolving this issue is our absolute priority, and our engineers are doing everything possible to get everyone safely back on supply as quickly as we can.

We’ll continue to provide regular updates as work progresses.

Please follow this page for the latest information, and thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this incident.
