We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades on Great Western Road, Bowling. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to homes and businesses.

What we're doing
This work is safety critical and involves the replacement of the gas service pipes connected to our gas main to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas continues to be delivered in Bowling. Gas service pipes are the smaller pipes which connect the gas main to homes and businesses.
When we're working
We’ll begin upgrading our network along Great Western Road in Bowling from Monday 2 February 2026 for five weeks.
Where we'll be working
To allow our engineers to carry out their work safely, lane closures will be needed along Great Western Road in the Bowling area. We know any restrictions on this important road will lead to disruption, so we have planned our work closely with West Dunbartonshire Council, Transport Scotland and Amey to minimise the impact as much as possible.
All our lane closures will take place during off peak times as follows:
NORTHBOUND LANE CLOSURES
- Wednesday 4 Feb, 9.30am to 3.30pm
- Wednesday 11 Feb, 9.30am to 4pm
- Thursday 12 Feb, 9.30am to 10.30am
SOUTHBOUND LANE CLOSURES
- Monday 16 February, 9.30 am – 1.30 pm
- Tuesday 17 February, 9.30am to 3.30pm
- Wednesday 18 February, 9.30am to 1.30pm
- Thursday 19 February, 9.30 am to 3.30 pm
