After close consultation with Falkirk Council, we'll begin work to extend our gas mains network to connect the villages of Whitecross, Letham, California, Avonbridge, and Slamannan.
If you live in any of these villages, you may have the opportunity to connect your property to our gas network.
All local authority owned properties in Whitecross, Letham, California, Avonbridge, and Slamannan will be offered a connection to our gas network, while residents who privately own their property will have the chance to apply for a connection.
We started our project in October 2023, and it will take until July 2025 to complete. Depending on which town you stay in, a connection to our gas network should be available to you between April 2024 and July 2025.
While we work
To ensure everyone’s safety while we work, temporary traffic lights, road closures and some parking suspensions will be in place for the duration of our work.

Initial investigation works in the area started in October 2023 and our project to connect the village to our gas network began in November 2023.
The connection to our existing gas network will be taken from Castle View, Airth and extended along the A905 towards Letham. We anticipate we will be commissioning the mains within the village around April 2024 ready for service connections.

Gas will be available to homes in Letham by the end of March 2024.

The first phase of our work started in Station Road and is progressing towards Whitecross. Phase two will be carried out from Station Road and connect to our existing gas network at Falkirk Road, Linlithgow.
All being well, we'll be commissioning the mains within the village around May 2024 ready for service connections.

The connection to our existing gas network will be at the B8028/Cross Brae where we will extend the gas mains network down to and continue along Main Street, through California Road towards the village of California. We anticipate we will be commissioning the mains within the village around July 2024 ready for service connections.

We began work to make a connection to our existing gas network from the B8028/Cross Brae in February 2024, which will allow us to bring gas to California and then continue towards Avonbridge.
We expect to reach Avonbridge and have the gas mains commissioned ready for service connections around October 2024.
Temporary traffic lights and local road closures with significant diversion routes will be in place at times. We know this is a busy route and we'd encourage road users to allow more time for their journeys during this phase of our work.
Slamannan is the final village which will be connected to our gas network during this project.
The connection to our existing gas network at the B8028/Cross Brae in November 2023 will allow us to bring gas to California, Avonbridge, and finally in Slamannan and Binniehill.
We expect to reach Slamannan and have the gas mains commissioned ready for service connections around July 2025.
