We're carrying out essential gas network upgrades in the Jevington Road area. This work will ensure a continued safe and reliable supply of gas is delivered to Friston homes and businesses.
Working to keep you safe and warm
What we're doing
We'll be replacing our old metal pipes in the Jevington Road area. This is part of our 30-year programme of work to replace our old mains, reaching the end of their useful lives, with new, reliable plastic pipe.
When we're working
Our work will start on Monday 19 January and this project is expected to last approximately eight weeks.
Where we'll be working
Jevington Road
- Our engineers will be working here from Monday 19 January for approximately three weeks.
- We'll be replacing our old pipes between its junctions with Old Willingdon Road and A259 Friston Hill.
- To ensure everyone's safety, we need to close this section of Jevington Road to motorists. Signed diversions will be in place for affected road users. A map outlining the closure area and diversion route can be found below.
Crowlink Lane
- This phase of work will start on Monday 2 February. It's expected to take three weeks to complete.
- Our team will be working between A259 Friston Hill and Crowlink Place.
- We may need to temporarily restrict vehicle access to Crowlink Car Park due to the width of the road as we make our excavations to reach our underground pipes.
Old Willingdon Road and The Outlook
- We'll be working here from Monday 9 February for approximately five weeks.
- Our engineers will be replacing our pipes from the junction with Jevington Road to Waterworks Cottages, and along the full length of The Outlook.
- These roads will be closed around our work area. Signed diversions will be in place for affected road users.
We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, this work is essential to ensuring nearby properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.
