We have appointed contractor WCB to upgrade our gas network in the South Hill Road area of Bromley. They will work to replace ageing metal gas mains with new polyethylene (plastic) pipes. This is part of a wider upgrade to replace old cast iron infrastructure with safer, longer-lasting materials to ensure the local community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
What roads will be affected?
Our engineers will start work along South Hill Road to the junction with Durham Avenue to the outside of property number 32.
- Start date: Monday 7 July
- Work duration: 2 weeks
- Traffic management: Road closure on South Hill Road
Engineers will also be working along Durham Avenue, from the junction with South Hill Road.
- Start date: Monday 7 July
- Work duration: 3 weeks
- Traffic management: Road closure along Durham Avenue
For the final part of this project, our engineers will be working along the following roads and road closures will be required (22 July – 3 weeks).
- South Hill Road, from outside of property number 117 to the junction with Kingswood Road
- Kingswood Road to the junction of South Hill Road
- Den Road to the junction with Kingswood Road.
Maintaining access
We are committed to minimising disruption as much as possible and will ensure:
- Pedestrian access and property access is maintained
- Local businesses and residents can continue to receive deliveries – please speak to our site team regarding any specific access arrangements
- Emergency access will be preserved
