21 JULY - URGENT UPDATE - due to Medway Council revoking our permission to work, and cancelling the road closure order, this project has been postponed. We apologise to those members of the local community who received information on the project this weekend. Unfortunately the letter drop could not be cancelled in time.
We will keep the local community informed of a start date for the rescheduled work.
Our contractor, Forefront Utilities, is preparing to carry out essential work to divert our gas network along Town Road, Cliffe Woods in Rochester. The essential work will ensure local homes and businesses continue to receive a reliable gas supply.
Work will start on Monday 28 July and is expected to be ongoing for two weeks.
To ensure everyone’s safety, Town Road will be closed around the work site, and we’ll be working between the junctions of Lillechurch Road and View Road.
Signed diversion routes will be in place and access will be maintained for residents and businesses within the works area, where it is safe to do so. Bus routes will be affected, and passengers should contact their local providers for information on changes to bus stops and routes.
Between 28 July – 10 August SGN will be funding a free shuttle bus, operated by Nu-Venture. This will use an alternative route to serve Cliffe/Cliffe Woods, temporarily replacing bus 133. More information here:
