Between Monday 6 October – Monday 15 December, our engineers will be returning to complete a crucial connection and associated gas main replacement work on Horton Road in Ashley Heath. These works are essential to ensure we maintain a safe and efficient gas supply to the local community, helping to avoid further disruptive emergency gas escapes in the future.
Due to the location of the connection points and gas pipes in the road, it will be necessary to temporarily close Horton Road in phased sections as follows.
Phase one (from Monday 6 October for approximately four weeks)
A temporary road closure on Horton Road, from the junction of St Ives Park up to just before Woolsbridge Road.
This closure will mean:
- No through vehicle access between the junctions
- Resident vehicle access will be maintained, and residents will be kept informed of access arrangements, as these will change as the project progresses
- Vehicle access to Woolsbridge Road from Horton Road will be maintained; vehicles can access left only onto Horton Road. Vehicle access to Woolsbridge Road, from Horton Road, will be from the west side of the closure
- Vehicle access to St. Ives Park, from Horton Road, will be maintained via the east side of the closure
- Bus routes including school buses will be affected - please contact your service provider for the latest information about changes to your service
- Bin collection days will remain unchanged unless you are advised otherwise by your service provider
Phase two (from Monday 3 November for approximately two weeks)
Junction closures on Horton Road with both Woolsbridge Road and Lions Lane will be in place. Temporary three-way traffic lights will also be in place on Horton Road.
During this time, there will be no vehicle access in or out of Woolsbridge Road and Lions Lane to Horton Road.
Phase three (from Monday 10 November for approximately five weeks)
Night road closures (7am-7pm) and temporary traffic lights will be in place as we work along Horton Road. These will be in place from outside the junction of Magnolia House to the junction of Webbs Close. During this time, road closures will be in place between these junctions whilst three- and four-way traffic lights will be in place during the day.
This will mean:
- No through vehicle access between Magnolia House and Webbs Close
- Vehicle access to properties within the closure will be maintained – our team will keep those properties impacted informed about their access arrangements
- Vehicle access to Webbs Close will be from the western side of the closure
- Vehicle access to Magnolia House will be from the eastern side of the closure
