We're carrying out work to move and upgrade a section of our gas network, to ensure homes and businesses in the area continue to receive a reliable gas supply.

Our £2 million critical project involves laying a new gas main in Knightsridge, which will fully replace the gas main that currently runs along Moss Wood. When our project is complete, the old gas main will be isolated and decommissioned.

For the duration of our project, our engineers will continue to monitor the existing gas escape in Moss Wood daily, which is standard procedure to ensure the situation remains under control.

Road closures and temporary traffic lights will be in place at varying times during the six-month duration of our critical project.

We know this is a busy area and advise commuters to allow more time for their journey. Our project will be broken down into phases to reduce disruption as much as possible.

Phase one of our work will begin in Knightsridge East Road on Monday 4 November shown on the map below. This phase will take approximately eight weeks. Phase two will begin in the New Year, and take four-weeks to complete.

We'll update this project page with information on future phases closer to their start times.
